Take Cover Under A Commercial Umbrella

As a business owner, you’ve protected your assets. You have General Liability insurance and may even have a Commercial Auto policy. The amounts on your policies reflect what you need in case of an accident or injury to a third party.  Yet you can only buy up to a set amount of coverage with these policies. Often the amounts aren’t enough to cover a catastrophic event. That’s where Commercial Umbrella insurance comes in. This policy gives you the extra liability coverage you would need to cover a big loss. What’s more, you get a whole lot of extra coverage at a very reasonable cost.

How an Umbrella Works

Commercial Umbrella insurance provides extra protection if you’re responsible for an accident or injury that exceeds the limits of your primary policies, such as General Liability, Commercial Auto, Employers Liability (under Workers Compensation), or Liquor Liability.

Even with solid coverage in place, more serious incidents, such as a life-threatening injury or a major accident, can lead to costs that go beyond those limits. An Umbrella policy helps cover those additional expenses.

For example, if you have $1 million in coverage and a claim reaches $2 million, your primary policy would pay up to its limit, and the Umbrella would help fill in gaps left by other coverages.

While these situations are rare, they can be costly. Umbrella coverage offers an added layer of financial protection and peace of mind, with limits available from $1 million to $10 million.
