form of distribution. We strongly believe that policyholders receive the
best service from independent agents who are located in their communities.

How is the independent agent different from the captive agent or the telephone
representative?
Some agents represent only one company. When your insurance needs change you
may have to find another company and thus another agent. The telephone
representative may also represent only one company with the added burden of
providing telephone contact only.

choose to market our products exclusively through independent agents and are
confident that our products can stand up to the competition. By not being a
'captive' agent or representing only one insurance company, independent agents
have your best interest at heart. Your agent doesn't have to place your
business with us, but when we are selected, it means that Indiana Farmers
Mutual Insurance has provided an outstanding price and product to meet your
needs.
